Custom Heirloom Family Photo Albums in Fairfield County CT – Our 5 Step Process

Your family portraits deserve more than being stored on a hard drive. They deserve to live in your hands, on your coffee table, and in your children’s memories for decades to come.

At Forty Seven Moments Photography, we make the album design process effortless and enjoyable. Here’s exactly what to expect.

Step 1: Heirloom Album Material Selection

We offer a variety of materials such as, fine linen and genuine leather. You will be able to see and feel samples when you visit our studio for your artwork design and ordering appointment. Each material has an assortment of colors to choose from as well. These decisions really bring home the correct feel and aesthetic of your custom heirloom album. Our personal favorite is the Luxe Linen Album in Rose Quartz.

Step 2: Album Cover Customization

After choosing the materials and colors, it’s time to customize the cover of the album! This is where we will talk you through the different styles of debossing (the process of engraving words into the cover) as well as font placement. This step gives you the opportunity to really make your album feel like your own!

Step 3: Album Design Approval

Over 2-3 weeks, we will take care of designing the album for you, using all of your favorite images from your family portrait session. After we lay it out, we will send you a digital proof for you to approve prior to printing. If revisions are necessary, we will send an updated proof through your client portal.

Step 4: Printing

After you have approved the album design, we will send it in to be printed. We use high quality materials and work alongside professional printers to ensure the excellence of your album. This part of the process takes about 4-6 weeks.

Step 5: Finishing Touches for your Custom Album

Finally, after the albums are printed, we will personally inspect them for quality and then they are ready to find their place in your home! They will be available to be picked up at the studio or hand delivered by us to your home upon your request.

“Displaying photos prominently in the home sends the message that our family and those in it are important to one another.” Cathy Lander-Goldberg

They won’t let me swap them out or move them!

When we moved into our home over 10 years ago, I put framed images of each of our kids above our fireplace. I had the intention of moving them when I found a piece of artwork that worked with the space.

Time passed and I mentioned to my kids that I would be relocating their elementary portraits.

I was not expecting their response. All three of them objected to this idea.

In my mind, I was the one who really cared about our family portraits, especially the framed pictures on our walls.

It wasn’t until I suggested moving the pictures that I realized how important they were to each of my teenage kids!

To them, those pictures represented their childhood. Those memories were a part of their home, their upbringing and their security within it.

My eyes were opened to the value of a framed photographed that is prominently displayed in the home.

It’s not just about looking pretty. It represents emotional depth in a child’s life. Something deeper than we will ever know.

To all the parents reading this, you NEED framed photographs of your family in your home.

What would it take in order to make that happen?

Much love,
Rachel
